Terms of Service

By using Shortlisted, you agree to these terms. We try to keep them reasonable and plain-English.

1. Your account

You need to be at least 16 to use Shortlisted. You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. One account per person. You agree to provide accurate account information.

2. What Shortlisted does (and doesn’t do)

Shortlisted is an AI tool that helps you search for jobs, analyze your fit for roles, and generate tailored resumes and cover letters. We do not guarantee a job, an interview, or any particular outcome. AI-generated content may contain errors — you’re responsible for reviewing anything before submitting it to an employer.

3. Acceptable use

Don’t:

• Use Shortlisted to fabricate experience you don’t have. The AI is prompted not to, but you could try to work around it — doing so is a violation.
• Use Shortlisted for mass-applying to jobs. Our rate limits are designed to prevent this.
• Attempt to extract, copy, or reverse-engineer our AI prompts, models, or system.
• Share or resell access to your account.
• Use the service to harass, defraud, or deceive anyone.
• Scrape, crawl, or automate the service outside official APIs.

Violations can result in account suspension or termination.

4. Subscription and billing

Free tier. Available indefinitely, subject to usage limits.

Pro tier. €9.99 per month, billed monthly in advance by Stripe. You can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period.

Refunds. We don’t offer refunds for partial months, but if something is broken or you feel you were charged unfairly, email us and we’ll make it right.

Price changes. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

5. Your content

Your resume, job notes, and any content you create on Shortlisted remains yours. You grant us a license to store, process, and display it as needed to run the service (e.g. generating a tailored resume). We don’t claim ownership of your content and don’t use it to train AI models.

6. Our content

The Shortlisted service itself — the software, AI prompts, UI, blog content, brand — is ours. You can’t copy, redistribute, or build competing products using our proprietary assets.

7. AI limitations

Generative AI makes mistakes. Our fit analyses are statistical estimates, not ground truth. Our generated resumes and cover letters may occasionally misstate or over-claim. You are responsible for reviewing any output before submitting it.

8. Availability

We aim for high uptime but can’t guarantee it. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may update, change, or discontinue features with notice where feasible.

9. Termination

You can cancel or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shortlisted is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to registered users and posted on the site at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Shortlisted’s operating entity is registered. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer law requires otherwise.
